The fans of Korean boy band BTS are spread all over the world. He has some loyal followers who will do anything and everything to get the attention of the members. But who knew someone would actually go down to have surgery to look like boy band member Jimin? A British influencer known as Ollie London has been doing the rounds on social media for going an extra mile to express his love for BTS’ Jimin.
Ollie London, who identifies as interracial and goes by pronouns, took to Twitter to share a video describing he, and his transition to being a Korean. In the video, London says, “I identify with the Korean community. Maybe they accept me more now because I have this look.” Sharing about her 18 surgeries to look like Jimin, London says, “Hey guys! I’m finally Korean. I’ve transitioned. I identify as Korean – that’s just my culture, This is my country, this is how I look now. I am so happy I have finished my look… I have eyes [and] I just raised eyebrows,” adding further, “I’m stuck in the wrong body… but in the end, I’m Korean—I can be myself. And I’m very happy.”
However, London was heavily criticized for his move. One netizen commented, “Why did you change yourself, the message BTS gave us is to be ourselves and love ourselves, you were all beautiful before the surgery.” Another wrote, “You are not a Korean or a girl. You are a British man seeking attention.” Another tweet criticizing London read, “Can anyone tell this idiot that he’s not Korean and never will be!? I’m Asian and someone like you who calls himself Korean and Asian, Really offends me!”
