Amazon Prime announces return of hit fantasy web series with Michael Sheen and David Tennant – Deets Inside

Amazon Studios today announced that it has the global fan-favorite series Good Omens for a second season. Multi-award-winning actors Michael Sheen, (Quiz, Staged) and David Tennant (Des, Staged, Doctor Who) have been confirmed to reprise their starring roles as the fairy Aziraphale and the demon Crowley, who is trying to save the world. The new season will explore stories that go beyond the original source material to uncover the unique friendship between Aziraphale, a fiery fairy and rare book dealer, and the fast-living demon Crowley. After living on Earth since The Beginning and the aftermath of the apocalypse, Aziraphale and Crowley are back in London’s Soho to live easier among mortals when an unexpected messenger reveals a surprising secret. Neil Gaiman continues as executive producer and will co-produce with executive producer Douglas MacKinnon, who will also return to direct. Rob Wilkins, John Finmore and BBC Studio Productions Head of Comedy Josh Cole will also executive produce, with Finmore Gaiman serving as co-writer. Good Omens is based on the popular and international best-selling novel Good Omens by Terry Pratchett (Hogfather) and Gaiman. The new season is produced by Amazon Studios, BBC Studios Productions, The Blank Corporation and Narratvia. Good Omens launched globally as a limited series on Prime Video in May 2019 and is based on the beloved 1990 novel, Good Omens: The Nice and Accurate Prophecies of Agnes Nutter, Witch, by Terry Pratchett and Neil Gaiman. is.
