Peter Capaldi (Doctor Who, The Thick of It) and Jessica Raine (Patrick Melrose, Informer) are set to star in the UK web series, The Devil’s Hour, a six-part mind-bending horror show for Amazon Prime Video is. Additional casting includes Nikesh Patel (Starstruck), Mira Syal (Tomorrow, Goodness Gracious Me), Alex Ferns (Chernobyl), Phil Dunster (Ted Lasso), Barbara Marton (Sanctuary), Thomas Dominic (Blood Drive), Rhiannon Harper-Rafferty Huh. The Donmar Warehouse’s all-female Shakespeare trilogy), John Alastair (Swimming with Men), Sandra Huggett (Coronation Street) and newcomer Benjamin Chivers. Filming for the new series will begin this month in London and Farnborough Studios.
Have you ever woken up in the middle of the night and felt like something was not right? Chances are you may have woken up during “The Devil’s Hour”—the time between 3 and 4 a.m., or especially 3.33 a.m., considered a time when unexplained things can happen.
The Devil’s Hour follows the story of Lucy, played by Raine, who wakes up every night at exactly 3.33 am with a terrifying vision – “The Devil’s Hour”. Her eight-year-old son is withdrawn and emotionless. His mother talks to empty chairs. His home is surrounded by echoes of life that is not his own. When Lucy’s name is inexplicably linked to a string of brutal murders in the area, the answers she’s received all these years will finally come to mind.
Peter Capaldi plays a reclusive nomad driven by a murderous obsession. He becomes the main target of a police search led by compassionate detective Ravi Dhillon, played by Patel. This six-part web series will be produced by Hartswood Films (Dracula, Sherlock). Executive producers are Sue Vertue, Steven Moffat and Tom Moran. The series will be produced by Ken Horn (Line of Duty) and directed by Johnny Allen (The Irregulars) and Isabel Seib (Vigil). All six episodes are written and produced by Tom Moran and will launch exclusively on Prime Video in over 240 countries and territories.
