Butters, the latest song from K-pop super band BTS, set a new record with 10 million views on YouTube in just 13 minutes of its release. Butters is the second BTS song after Dynamite to be performed entirely in English. So the band members including RM, Jin, Jimin, Jungkook, V, Suga and J-Hope had every reason to celebrate the release of their second English single. And it looks like their celebration is going to be overshadowed by band leader RM.
BTS recently hosted a comeback broadcast in which they played Butter Jenga, with unexpected and hilarious results. A challenge was written on each block and the one who failed would have to be punished. RM was the first to lose as he failed to complete the challenge of eating a butter cookie and blowing the whistle within 10 seconds.
The game was originally rigged and the sole purpose was to see RM lose. Jin helped a lot in this victory by counting from 10 to 1 in no time. “Please write a news article. Construction controversy. BTS fixes a Jenga game,” RM said.
RM now has to treat the band members to beverages using his personal credit card. To which, Jin started a rumor saying, “RM’s personal card is particularly good. RM’s personal credit card is rumored to have a limit of KRW 100 billion.” To which RM replied, “Wow, I see that I will actually go bankrupt. I see bankruptcy in my near future.”
Butters is a dance pop track with the band’s distinctive bassline and crisp synth sounds. The choreography is a combination of group and unit dance, with highlighted gestures such as stroking of hair, kissing, blowing and walking on tiptoes.
Meanwhile, BTS has announced an online live-streaming event, BTS 2021 Muster Sowozu, to mark the band’s eighth anniversary and known as ARMY. The two-day event will be held on June 13 and 14. June 14 will see a ‘world tour version’ featuring the group’s foreign language songs.
The group announced the event with an official poster, in which the seven-member band stands together against a backdrop of nature, holding the planets of the Solar System on balloon-like stars.
