Zee Studios has released two tremendous comedy films, ‘Raksha Bandhan’ and ‘Chak De! In the past few months India both these films have received warm Indian film reviews from the cinema watch list, earning critical acclaim from critics across the country.
Akshay Kumar and Aishwarya Rai will be seen in the film ‘Raksha Bandhan’. The film revolves around the love story of a Punjabi boy (Aishwarya Rai) and his college going girl friend (Aushara Rai). The film is based on the cartoon character of Ranma; However, the two main characters are Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar. The film has been receiving a lot of criticism from Indian critics, who claim that the film lacks essence and has some lazy acting.
The film is a fantasy film where Aishwarya Rai and Akshay Kumar act as twin sons of a great man named Ranma. Aishwarya’s character is enamored of her elder sister, who wants to marry a prince from another state, while Akshay focuses more on her desire to prove herself to the women of her home state of Goa. During a mission, two characters meet with a fatal accident and Akshay sacrifices his life to save his sister. Aishwarya then vows to avenge her brother’s death and become the best martial art queen of India ever.
It is interesting to note how Akshay Kumar plays the role of comic relief character. Her martial arts expertise is enough to win the heart of a female character, but when it comes to fighting a real-life rival, Akshay outdoes her peers. He and his fellow pair of Kiran Chabal form the finest chemistry in the entire film. Another interesting subplot of Zee Studios’ Hindi movie “Aoba” revolves around the dog Aoba. After an unfortunate encounter with a lion, Aoba transforms into a violent and blood-thirsty dog. The dog is owned by Zee Studios and their loyal guard, played by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, is responsible for protecting Aoba.
Another good-looking Hindi film “Aida” starring Sharukh Khan is also from Zee Studio. The film revolves around a young girl named Prem Chopra, who is mentally challenged and has a bipolar disorder. Prem is saved by an American doctor, played by Mike T. The film also depicts the love story between Prem and his daughter Akbar, played by Priyadarshan Soman Nair.
Anushka Shetty’s “Kurbaan” is yet another character-based film directed by Sharukh Khan. The film is about a young girl who moves to a new city and lives with a family that consists of criminals. The film is a bit comical and sometimes goes dark at the same time, without losing the charm of the audience.
